DATA ERASE / DATA DESTRUCTIONS / DATA WIPING
One of our primary concerns is the sensitivity of the data on your storage media.
The 1998 Data Protection Act makes it a legal requirement to adopt appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorised access, alteration or accidental loss or destruction of personal data.
All hard drives are erased using US Government defense standards and MoD/HMG 1SG approved software.
Any hard disk that fails data wiping, cannot be accessed or is found to be faulty, is removed from the device and physically destroyed. This ensures complete data security from our client's point of view. Destroyed hard disks are then sent for recycling.
Once each drive has successfully been erased a report detailing each drives serial number is generated, copiers of these reports can be included in the equipment report we provide. again this service is completely FREE!
We will wipe off computer disks, tapes and other storage media in line with the WEEE Directive. Any hard drives that are 40GB/80GB or more in size do have a reuse value and therefore, we would prefer to wipe rather than destroy as this is better for the environment. However, it is at the customers’ discretion.
